Paul Rentler, also known as prentler, is an artist, designer, and musician based in Columbus, Ohio. His multidisciplinary practice combines lo-fi photocopy techniques, collage, illustration, screenprinting, and mixed media to create visually layered and distinctive works.

Rentler’s work centers on the manipulation and recontextualization of imagery, often combining elements of popular culture into strange, distorted, and sometimes humorous compositions. Grit, texture, and a deliberately raw aesthetic are central to his visual language, giving his work a sense of immediacy and imperfection that reflects his experimental approach to image-making.

In addition to his studio practice, Rentler has an extensive background in comics. From 2015–2018, he created work for DC Comics’ Young Animal imprint and has contributed variant covers for Image Comics’ Ice Cream Man #14 (2019), Dark Horse Comics’ True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys: National Anthem #1 (2020), and Image Comics’ HAHA #3 (2020).

Rentler’s work has been exhibited in galleries and creative spaces across the United States, including Columbus, Chicago, Austin, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, as well as internationally in Australia.
