Paul Roden creates bright, densely layered works that reflect the visual noise and complexity of contemporary life. Drawing from the language of advertising, printmaking, and popular imagery, his compositions balance bold graphic forms with quieter moments of observation, where hidden details and shifting narratives reveal themselves over time. Originally rooted in woodcut printmaking, Roden’s practice now spans multiple media, embracing experimentation and continual reinvention. Born in Nashville and based in Pittsburgh, he earned his MFA from the University of South Dakota.
